Activate Report Designer

When your copy of Report Designer is not registered and the license is not activated then value of each attribute in the CustomXML and result report contain 1 or 2 asterisks ('*'):

Register your copy to make Report Designer generate reports without these asterisks.

1. Under administrative account (like SYS) log in to shell like SQL*Plus or SQLcl and run command:

   GRANT SELECT ON SYS.V_$DATABASE TO _rd_user_

   where _rd_user_ is a schema owner Report Designer application is installed into (e.g. REPORT_DESIGNER).
2. Launch Report Designer and on the right side of its toolbar click “?” (Display Help and Register) button. In the opened window copy the registration data into the clipboard or a temporary text file:
   

   If you failed to grant select on SYS.V_$DATABASE on the previous step, then the upper field will be empty.

3. Log in to your Explorantum client account by clicking the Client Login link on the right side of the site’s header:
   

   If you haven’t registered yet, then it’s time to do it now. Otherwise proceed to the next step. Click the Client Login link, in the opened modal windows click Register a new client:

   

   Enter your data and click the Register button on the toolbar:

   

   If your registration data is unique, then your login shall be successful. Click the Buy licenses toolbar button or go to the Pricing page and select the desired product edition.

4. On the Shopping Cart page verify that the selected Product is correct, change product Quantity if necessary, click the checkbox “I agree to the end-user license agreement” and click the Check Out button:
   

   The system creates a customer order and redirects you to the PayPal.com site for payment. We accept payments in USD. If you’d like to use another currency or payment system, contact us.

5. Log in to your PayPal account, select the desired funding source and click the Pay Now button at the bottom of the page:
   

   On successful payment, you’ll be redirected back to the Explorantum site. Click button Proceed to generate license keys or select Order and License Keys page from Client Account menu:

   
6. On the right side of the Orders and Registration key page you see that status of your order is Paid. If it is not so, whereas you’ve made the payment, contact us. Enter the Report Designer registration data you prepared on step 2 into the Input Registration Data field of the Registration Keys table and click the Save changes button:
   

   After saving, the field Registration Key Actions will contain a link “Generate Registration Key.” Click it when you are ready to activate your license.

7. In a while refresh the page Orders and Registration keys. When the registration key is prepared, click the link Get Registration Key in the field Registration Key Actions and copy the provided data to the clipboard or a temporary text file:
   
8. Return to your instance of Report Designer, paste the registration key into the bottom field, and click Activate button:
   

   After successful activation, reload the page, and Help & Register dialog will display your name as whom the product is registered by:

   

   If Report Designer is installed into several database schemes, repeat this step per one application in each scheme.
